Mindfulness for Groups

Mindfulness for Groups

The Session

An hour of gentle stretching, movement, and intentional breathing exercises. A light explanation of mindfulness practices as we play with the movements. Enjoyment, restoration and learning. The session leaves the team feeling light, open and ready to tackle challenges more effectively.

The purpose behind

To support the team’s wellness by offering an hour of wellness practices and to introduce how mindful movement and breathing can nurture and rejuvenate.

A session that respects and includes everyone

The session is suitable for all flexibility and fitness levels. The session can be done in business clothes as long as there is a bit of room for movement; shoes need to be off. Variations are offered to cater for injuries and difficulties in movement. Choice is offered, and participants are encouraged to only do what is easy and pleasant.

“Tania delivered a great session for our team. Calming and fun, it was the perfect start of a busy day!”
Samira Mairaj,
Head of HR Europe Alcon, client

Easy to do in any meeting setting

The session is usually done at the front of the meeting room, by removing some tables and chairs so that the group has room to stand and stretch their arms without bumping into each other. The session can be done any time of the day, after a meal or on an empty stomach.

Background of the Session

The Mindfulness for Groups practice combines my 15 years as a yoga practitioner and 5 years as a teacher with my firsthand knowledge of the corporate environment. It is based on practices from yoga and tai chi and is designed to be performed in a corporate setting. I originally created it out of my own need as a corporate professional to take a break from sedentary work, breathe, and relax during the workday. I first began sharing the practice informally within my HR role, leading sessions during meetings and breaks. During the pandemic, I offered regular online classes to my coworkers, and when we returned to the office, I led sessions at the beginning of meetings and professional gatherings. These experiences shaped the Mindfulness for Groups practice I now offer to organizations.

I absolutely love bringing the wisdom of mindfulness practices into the corporate environment. I have run this practice for six years and have been delighted to witness the enjoyment it brings to people of all backgrounds and levels of experience with mindfulness.
